This book is, simply put, a document exploring the many faceted subject of tattoos. Herein, tattoos are considered much more broadly than as pictures or elements of style. Tattoos could comprise anything from scars to animated drawings or even body parts. Could they be a metaphysical connection between body and soul? A second layer of red printed information serves as a kind of note taking or commentary over the black and white woodblock imagery. |
